Broadway Debut
Ellyn made her Broadway debut in the 2010 play, Enron, a show based on the 1990s demise of a Texas energy company. The show also featured Broadway powerhouses Norbert Leo Butz (ask her to tell you the story of Norbert almost drinking her breastmilk that was in a Snapple bottle - long story) and Marin Mazzie. It was a brilliant flop that closed WAY too soon. Ellyn's next foray onto Broadway was in Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Kinky Boots
Ellyn was an original company Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway musical, Kinky Boots, even coming up with a name for her character, Gemma Louise. She understudied several roles, including the lead character of Lauren, the hilarious love interest pining for Charlie Price while helping him run his factory. If you saw the show throughout the 2010s before its closing, you likely saw Ellyn onstage in one of several roles. You can also catch her on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Tony's from that year - look for the MULLET!
